Human resource management is an essential role in every company. Companies would be unable to efficiently hire and maintain personnel, improve and grow the business, or maintain a healthy, acceptable workplace culture and environment without human resources management. Human resources management is so vital to businesses that many people refer to it as the "heart and soul" of the company
1.1 Definitions of Human Resource Management
Various definitions regarding Human Resource management are given by authors and some of the definitions by said authors regarding human resource management (HRM) is mentioned below.
According to Ricky W. Griffin, “Human Resource Management is the set of organizational activities directed at attracting, developing and maintaining an effective workforce
The definition given by Dale Yoder regarding the definitions of HRM is “HRM is the provision of leadership and direction of people in their working or employment relationship
1.2 Functions of human resource management.
There are various functions of human resource management which aids a business remain successful. Finding the appropriate individuals, developing their capabilities over a period of time, and creating an environment where employees can perform at their best are all critical factors that help an organization achieve its organizational objectives effectively. With the aid of human resource management, the organization and its management can make sure the company and its employees are operating within the proper guidelines and regulations as well as resolve any liability issues that may occur. It also aids in keeping the workforce of the organization both well trained and happy
1.3 Objectives of human resource management.
The human resource is an element which is essential to the success an organization in achieving its organizational goals and objectives. Many objectives of the HRM department can either enhance or impact the organization negatively if the human resource of the organization is not managed properly and thus the importance of proper human resource management to an organization can be seen. Driving the productivity by making sure competent individuals are recruited and remain up to date with training initiatives is one of the key objectives of human resource management. The building of coordination between the organizational departments is another important objective of HRM

1.4.1 Strategy management -
HRM plays a key role in the strategic management of an organization by managing the strategies implemented by the organization and making sure the company meets its objectives by properly managing the human resource of the organization. In addition to this, HR managers of an organization contributes significantly to the corporate decision-making process
1.4.2 Training and development –
Training and developing employees in an organization is an important aspect in any organization as it plays a key role in the improvement and management of the talent within the organization and HRM largely contributes in the training and development programs of employees in an organization. Highly trained individuals are a major asset to any organization in world and therefore, this factor shows the importance of HRM in an organization.
1.4.3 Conflict management –
Every individual is different from each other and therefore, it is inevitable that conflict arises between employees within an organization, be it professional or otherwise. Therefore, conflict management is important to an organization in resolving such issues and HRM plays the role of conflict management within an organization.
1.4.4 Establishing a healthy work culture –
A healthy and friendly work culture is essential in an organization in carrying out organizational operations smoothly and HR managers of an organization plays a significant role in establishing a proper work culture within an organization.
